I have been searching for my ancestors for more than 20 years now. One of my great grandmothers came from Sokndal in Dalane, Rogaland. This is an area that has been neglected as far as books on genealogy go, I have concentrated my work on this branch of my family in the resent years.
I'm working on familyhistory for the entire parish, but I'm not quite done with it. I have so far gone through the church records, court records, tax lists, and censuses, and have the history finished up to the year 1900.

On the Norwegian pages on Sokndal you will find a lot of pages with transcriptions from original documents, such as tax lists and censuses. There are also some other pages on different stories from the parish, amongst them one on to women that were accused as witches in the 1620s. I will try to translate all of these pages as well time permitting
